Carbohydrate Database
The user has to select the carbohydrate
database from the drop down menu. There
are currently four carbohydrate databases
to choose from: HIV, Pituitary hormone,
Serum/Plasma proteins, and all entries.
Peptide Sequence
The known peptide sequence must be entered
in this box.
Peptide Mass
If the peptide sequence is not known, the mass corresponding to the
singly charged species is entered. (Note that cyateine modification and variable modification
are not needed in this case)
Cysteine Modification
Cysteine modification: none, carbamidomethyl,or
carboxymethyl
Variable Modification
These are known Amino acid residue modification: none, carbamylation, oxidation of
methionine, and deamididation of glutamine or cysteine.
Charge State
The charge state of the ions: MH+, MH2+,
MH3+, MH-, MH2-, MH3-
Mass Tolerance
The mass error of the data in ppm.
Charge Carrier
The ion adducts. For example, MH+ for
protonated species and MNa+ for sodiated
species.
PeakList
Experimental masses to be analyzed are
entered separated by new lines or copied
and pasted from an excel file.
To perform a search, paste
the peaklist in the search form, specify
the carbohydrate database to search,
mass error, peptide sequence (or peptide mass), cysteine
modification, charge state, mass tolerance,
charge carrier and press the submit
button. The query result reports the
theoretical mass that matches the experimental
mass within the specified mass error.
This is displayed in a tabular format
in the order, Peak List Mass, Database
Mass, Mass Error, Database Entry.
